Mudon group revealed the continued concentration of retail activities in the governorates of the capital, Farwaniya, and Hawally

Report revealed the concentration of 69% of commercial units in 10 regions "Mudon" observes the concentration of retail activities in governorates Capital, Farwaniya, and Hawalli by 73% by the end of 2020.

Mudon group revealed the continued concentration of retail activities in the governorates of the capital, Farwaniya, and Hawally, with a number of up to 104 thousand shops, representing 73% of the total commercial units in Kuwait, estimated at 143,000 stores, representing more than 19% of the total registered units in Kuwait by the end of 2020. The company clarified in a detailed report that the Capital Governorate ranked first in terms of the number of commercial units with about 46,000 stores, representing 32% of the total commercial units in Kuwait, and representing 42% of the total registered units in the governorate, while Al-Farwaniyah governorate ranked second with about 31 thousand stores represent 21% of the total stores in Kuwait and 20% of the total units in the governorate.

Hawalli Governorate ranked third with about 28 thousand stores, representing 19% of all stores in Kuwait and 13% of all units in the governorate. The report indicated also that the governorates of Al-Ahmadi, Jahra, and Mubarak Al-Kabeer acquired 39,000 shops, representing 27% of the total in Kuwait, which indicates that the three governorates still need more commercial units, especially since the three governorates have 1.9 million people or more than 40% of the total population in Kuwait. The report added that about 707,000 Kuwaiti citizens live in the three governorates, amounting to 48% of the total population of Kuwaiti citizens by the end of June of the year 2021, which could enhance the expectations of growth in demand for commercial units in those areas. The report also indicated that the 10 most important commercial areas in Kuwait accounted for more than 69% of the total number of stores in Kuwait, and Qibla, Shuwaikh Industrial, and Hawalli areas, respectively, accounted for more than 48 thousand stores, representing 34% of the total number of stores in Kuwait.
